Tom Orry, Editor - House of the Dead: Overkill, Wii
Forgive me SEGA, for I expected your latest House of the Dead game to be rather forgettable. I really couldn't have been more wrong. As I mentioned in my review, this is the most fun I've had with a Wii game in a very long time, with the outrageous game Headstrong has created shocking me over and over again, in a good way. Even if you've read reviews and impressions on internet forums, you really can't prepare yourself for the things that happen in Overkill. It's the kind of stuff I didn't expect to see in any game period, let alone in a game made exclusively for the Wii. If there's any justice in this economically challenged world Overkill will sell extremely well, green lighting a sequel and securing Headstrong is safe for some time to come. I'm not sure if I can imagine what they'll think of next.
Wesley Yin-Poole, Deputy Editor - Street Fighter 4, PS3
With our review nearing, I've been hammering a final build of Street Fighter 4 this week. There's nothing much here that I haven't seen in previous builds of the game, but I have noticed the odd difference, mainly in the online play. So far, the netcode seems robust, performing on a similar level to the excellent netcode in Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. But what's really caught my attention is the ability to set the game so that while you're playing the Arcade mode, other players can jump in and challenge you to an online player match. This is genius - not only does it make playing the Arcade mode (and unlocking all the hidden characters) more interesting, but it gives the game a real arcade feel. In the arcade, you put your money in, play, and wait for someone to challenge you. This feeling hasn't really been captured by a console fighter before. Until now.
James Orry, News Editor - Football Manager Live, PC
I've made it to the big time. Next season the Juicy Danglers will be playing in the All Evening Premier League, at least I think they will. The team finished seventh in the qualifying league - a late run of poor form cost me a Top 5 place - but because two teams above me have left the game server I've been informed that I'll be given the fifth qualifying place - Back of the net! I've been spending in preparation of the big league too, and have already brought in several players to strengthen the team. The most notable being French speedster David Bellion who I hope will be firing in the goals for years to come - £190,000 seemed like good business to me.
Sebastian Ford, Video Producer - F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin, Xbox 360
I never played the original F.E.A.R so playing through its sequel was a totally new experience for me. Perhaps I had just gotten used to the controls and general dynamic of Killzone 2, but F.E.A.R. 2 just felt... well... something. I was reminded of Time Crisis in places, Gears of War in others, and spent the rest of it fumbling around in the dark - more irritated than scared. This I will put down to playing in a well lit office with plenty of company, but as I have been told by Tom, I'm not a video games journalist and therefore don't know what I'm talking about. Don't misunderstand, I like this game and at times thoroughly enjoyed myself, it just didn't really do it for me.

GRID was everything Tom's review said it was, and more! I discovered a nice depth to the sponsorship system, especially when you get a co-driver replete with back-chatter during races, and it gets quite tactical as to which sponsors you go for thereafter - pointless having everything requiring 1st place as that way only one of your cars wins, the other gets nothing.
And the figure-of-eight tracks in Destruction Derby were a pleasant surprise, got some very cool near-miss replays saved from that now, as well as some horrific pileups.
Inbetween I've been playing RuneScape (my mmorpg of the moment) and trying not to play FFVII as I just know it'll ruin any chances I have of clearing my backlog.

Sorry, immature I know.
Umm, I'm playing very little, as usual. The occasional hit on Geometry Wars is about the extent of it. I did get a new high score on Pacifism yesterday, 80 million. I also just installed Orange Box on PC again so might play Episode 1/2 again.

I'm just up to chapter 5 and I have to say this might be one of my favourite Gamecube games I have currently.
