Welcome to the Rumour mill, VideoGamer.com's run-down of the big rumours currently doing the rounds in the video game industry. Every week we'll hunt down the juiciest stories and give our opinion on how legit they are. So, whether you want the ridiculous or the plausible, read on.

Kingdom Hearts III exclusive to Wii

The Rumour: The Square Enix/Disney action RPG series will be making its debut on Wii with Kingdom Hearts III. It will be exclusive to the Nintendo console.

Verdict: This rumour has been doing the rounds forever and it makes sense. While Kingdom Hearts is a favourite amongst hardcore Square fans, Disney sees it as a franchise that appeals to a younger audience. And what console is in a better position to appeal to kids than the Wii? We think this is a near certainty, with DS games to follow.

Plausibility rating: 4/5

Crackdown 2 in the works

The Rumour: Microsoft own the Crackdown IP and is currently working on a sequel to the hit free-roaming action game. Original developer Real Time Worlds isn't handling the sequel as Microsoft didn't offer them the project in time.

Verdict: Crackdown remains one of the Xbox 360's best titles so a sequel makes sense. We're not so sure it's already in development though. Speaking recently to MTV's Multiplayer blog, Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Games Studios said: "Ken Lobb, my creative director, loves 'Crackdown.' It's his personal favorite. Ken would develop it himself if he could." We're reading that as a possible rather than a definitely happening.

1080 Snowboarding Wii Balance Board edition

snowboarding -

The Rumour: Nintendo is considering a new game in the 1080 Snowboarding series for the Wii. It will make use of the Wii Balance Board, included with Wii Fit.

Verdict: After playing the Virtual Console release of 1080 for the Nintendo 64 a new game in the series would be great. Is Nintendo really considering it though? Well, speaking to Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President, Shigeru Miyamoto, Senior Managing Director of Nintendo said: "I could make a version of the Snowboard Slalom with improved courses, or maybe 1080° Balance Boarding." That sounds like considering to us.

PSP2 well into development

psp2 fake -

The Rumour: The PSP2 is in development and will feature a sliding screen, two analogue sticks, d-pad and just about every other button on a PS3 controller.

Verdict: While we'd love this to be true, the evidence at the moment is a nice fake. The mock PSP2 design is indeed rather beautiful, although we're not sure the design is all that practical. A PSP2 is almost certainly going to happen, but this isn't evidence of its existence.

Plausibility rating: 1/5
