Tom Orry, Editor - Fracture, Xbox 360 and PS3
It would be hard to call Fracture a great game, but it's definitely got something about it. Having thoroughly enjoyed LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I went into Fracture expecting a fun, action packed third-person shooter, which is almost what I got. The terrain deformation technology is undeniably cool and good fun to mess about with, but the actual shooting mechanics don't feel right. A lot of people will be able to live with Fracture's issues and enjoy a rather different feeling shooter - it's just a shame the niggling flaws weren't ironed out. As juvenile as it seems, throwing enemies into the air by repeatedly raising and lowering the ground never gets old.
Wesley Yin-Poole, Deputy Editor - NOT Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, PC
Inexplicably, I was booted off of Mythic's superb fantasy MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. I simply couldn't log in. 'Authentication failed' my computer sniggered at me, time and time again. Logging on to the official WAR Europe site, I searched, frantically, for an answer. My subscription had expired. What? Do you know who I am? I'm the deputy editor of VideoGamer.com insolent cur! Still, my computer, blank faced, kept saying no. Turns out my lovely game journalist sub key expired, and I now have to fork out actual cash to play the game. The timing couldn't be worse - my flatmate, Big Dave, has just got into it, and, knowing him, he'll bust the level cap any minute. Guess this is the real test, isn't it?
Neon Kelly, Previews Editor - Elite Beat Agents, Nintendo DS
To be honest, I rarely get along with rhythm-based games - they simply require too much co-ordination, and they often make me regress into some teary-eyed, child-like state. Elite Beat Agents is an exception to the rule: it has a difficulty curve that lets you get into the swing of things at your own pace - although it does get ridiculously hard later on. At any rate, the thing I really I love about this game is its bizarre Japanese sense of humour: there's nothing like helping to fend off an alien invasion by jamming along to Jumpin' Jack Flash. I don't really mind the fact that the game uses cover versions, rather than original material: when your head-bopping and random laughter is freaking out an entire bus full of commuters, you won't mind a bit.

If you've not picked up UFO: Enemy Unknown from Steam yet, you really should. It might be 15 years old, but it's still at the absolute peak of the turn-based strategy genre.

It's a masterpiece in so many different areas, essential in many ways and great in lots of places so probably a 9.2/10 or thereabouts, maybe add a couple of tenths because it's only £19.99 RRP.
I've always loved that videogames allow you to do things that you can't do in real life, so aside from running knights of the realm through the neck with a well-oiled blade during a particularly brutal counter-attack which results in a spectacular burst of blood from a severed jugular I've also been dabbling around in Phantasy Star Universe where I'm manipulating my little section of the futuristic plantetary system economy on a Warren Buffet-esque scale.
For present-tense gaming I blew the dust off Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and got shot, stabbed, blown up and became a bomb crater thanks to fellow Videogamer.com members and staff. Thanks, guys.
I've also been playing with my Amazon account and got Fallout 3 on pre-order now.

I should also mention that this week most of us at VideoGamer.com have been playing a game called 'Get Sick And Stay In Bed With The Flu'.... this is why there are only three entries on this feature this week!
