I appologise it would seem that Epic still own most of the IP. However Microsoft have signed an Exclusivity deal with Epic to keep it on 360. Even meaning it cannot be released on PC this year.
Aren't Microsoft still looking to buy Epic also?

Probably, although I'll bet it would cost them a couple of billion. Between one of the biggest franchises in gaming at the moment and the most widely-used development engine Epic will carry a, well, epic price tag.

Are MS still after Yahoo, too, or did that fall through?

Theres no major difference in graphics between the Xbox 360 and the PS3, onlyfew games have graphical differences and these are usually minor. Only problem was the development tools Sony provided but I hear those are getting better now as well.

The only reason the PS3 isnt selling as well is because of the price, in this time of economic uncertainty the Xbox and the Wii are doing so well because of their lower prices.

I hate how everyone rags on the plot/storyline from MGS4! It's a brilliant story which speaks to a near-future of controlled war by huge multinational corporations. Except for the little bit about FOXDIE and the way it worked in Snake, which I'm still not 100% on, the rest was a brilliant look at a possible future. Game of the year hands down and the storyline was the reason.

From reading Kojima's comments a few times I get the impression he's talking about reorganising company infrastructure and procedures to bring them more in line with how western developers make and promote games rather than 'westernising' the MGS franchise itself.

Thinking further, the MGS series doesn't need westernising, it's already one of the greatest series of games to come out of Japan. Capcom would get equally strange looks if they announced they were going westernise Resident Evil or Street Fighter, these series already appeal to the west, and gamers the world over.

Personally I haven't a clue how Kojima is going to reshuffle his company to make it more competitive, seems to me it they don't really have any competition and this is more of a passing phase amongst Japanese developers/publishers because they somehow think they've lost the plot a bit due to the recent phenomenol success of western developers.

I'd argue that this recent success isn't due to the west having better game designers or some advantage in being able to tap into mainstream popular culture, I'd say it was more along the lines of better word of mouth when it comes to hyping new titles, more aggressive publishing tactics and, dare I say it, a closer relationship with their end-users.

By way of example, type "Name of Western Game" Official Forums into Google and there's a high chance you'll have instant access to the developers, now try that with Metal Gear Solid to start a dialogue, not so easy.

In terms of MGS ever appearing on the 360, there's a very, very strong financial argument for it to happen, however, Kojima probably has to juggle that argument against how much damage he feels it would do to Sony, there's probably a very big personal loyalty thing going on there.

My guess is there is some sort of written agreement between Sony and Capcom. After doing some research on the GOW IP I would say there is some sort of agreement with Capcom the same sort of restrictions to use the MGS IP on other competitors machines. Unless that agreement has now been full filled aka 3 games.

Plus as Fantasy stated the attachment to Sony. Or is there an attachment or was Capcom actually producing a game for a singular console (thus getting the best from the game) and chose the market leader. Which PS3 is by no means is so Capcom have to broaden their horizons.

MGS5 should not be an FPS! It's a genre that has become bland and played out. And MGS has been always a third person shooter. Making it into an FPS will just drain the franchise of it's uniqueness.

Alright lets clear up a few things. First Metal Gear Solid 4 will never come to Xbox 360. Why? Because the Blu-ray disk has double capacity then the HD-DVD disk (50GB/25GB). If Kojima Productions were to release a 360 MGS, it would be a waterdown vision of the series, one that would be compatible with the Xbox hardware. Second, Kojima never hinted at working on another MGS, so were is this MGS5 stuff coming from? He said he was going to split his team in two to create new IP's (Intellectual Properties) to rival popular genres in the west. You people need to do your research and stop letting fanboy forums shape your perspective. One Love!
