I just want to say many of us harcore GTA players (yes I have played everyone for thousands of hours total) do like the new style.

The puplishers of this articale should ask REAL GTA fans or at least a handful of different GTA fans, as we have very different opinions to this guy. I think he is in the minority. And I have played all the GTA games many times over! GTA 4 rocks! I love it. Sure couple things like parachutes and more clothes might be nice, but there is so much cool stuff added, that that is no big deal.
If I pull a gun on a civ and a cop sees me - I expect him to shoot at me! It makes the game more challenging and FUN.

The cops ARE too harsh and it is difficult to have a shootout with them even with the awesome new cover system simply because wherever your taking cover a cop car can easily pull up behind you or you'll get flanked because the AI is too good.
I also had a look at the cheat list, it was NOTHING compared to the wonder of San Andreas and previous titles, missing out on great cheats like Riot mode, all pedestrians have weapons, FLYING CAR!, Super punch and jetpack spawn. Nothing like a smoke with your friends and a night of gta madness
The lack of BMX blows, and some of the realism ( I thought they were making this one MORE realistic?!) such as going out to eat and getting fat and getting hench using the weights something I miss.

I could sit here for the next hour picking apart the article but I'll leave it at this, I think this game fully deserves a 10, I think people give it lower scores because it's not "perfect" and truth be told if that is what someone uses in an argument a good question to ask would be exactly what game IS perfect? Certainly anyone could say there hasn't been one yet but that turns into a catch-22, you want something you'll never have so give it a rest. The game introduced enough into a longstanding series to make it completely new and fresh yet familiar, and in the meantime introduced so much in the ways of new features and technology it will be very hard to return to a regular game and still have as much fun as before.
It's revolutionary in many respects, and thankfully it sold well enough (certainly from assumption, no solid numbers released yet) that when it comes to Rockstar they'll follow this path they're on and make more. Getting really really tired of the sensationalist "this game doesn't deserve a 10!" followed by a bunch of stupid reasons like "I can't pay a hooker to put a finger up my bum while she blows me, it's an 8 guys, sorry" that websites use to generate traffic with.

Hell yes it is fun, but this just feels like a Microsoft product at this point (shoved out the door unfinished and we have to stomach BS updates to fix the outstanding problems). This type of lack in product quality has NO place in the console world and it should not be taken so lightly as so many are so eager to do since it is one of their favorite franchises. It's like getting served you favorite cake with Shi7 sprinkles. If you let them keep doing it, then kiss product quality goodbye.
The main stream media and review sites are generating such an amazing wrapper for this title. Don't buy into or follow in support for something that is not up to standards of a properly polished and finished product. And updates don't count. It should have been right from the get go. Although that sucks, I do commend Rockstar on the localization process for the worldwide launch.
I'm not saying avoid the game, no way. It is a great game and I like it very much, but Rockstar did let myself as well as many others down with the technical issues that the game meet at launch. I just cannot see how anyone calls a flawed product (no matter the quantity of issues) a 10 or a 5 out of 5 or whatever.
I was kinda hoping that the next gen GTA would also see more interesting traffic AI and more realistic police traffic patrolling (why can I blaze through red lights, travel at break neck speeds, cut off cars and such without drawing attention from the police when present? Driver on the PS1 managed to do that pretty well about a decade ago. So, what is up Rockstar?

I mean im happy i got the game but i dont think ill enjoy this as much as i thought i would. It would've been the perfect game if rockstar had taken the gameplay of san andreas and integrated it into the new liberty city.
