If you are complaining about the cops being too hard get better at the game or play free mode and turn the cops off. Perfect the countering system with melee combat and you can easily take on more than one character at once while looking like a badass (Knife counter is amazing!). The updated driving is fantastic and makes the chase super dramatic and fun.
All i can say is give it another shot and look deeper.

It seems to me that John maybe needs to play Saints Row 2. That may be more up your alley. GTA is headed in a different direction than you wanted, and it seems it's trying to fit in-between it's competitors (rip-offs, whatever) Saints Row and The Getaway. I think it's doing it nicely. If you're unhappy, maybe it's time to check out some of the other series...

And whats up with this tittle! ??????/ He dosnt rip on ANY FLAWS...He just made up a bunch of pointless complaints....Because he sucks at realistic combat thats a game flaw? Because he cant drive...Thats a game flaw? Whoever titled this/wrote this might have been born special.

With the gta4 hits google, and yahoo is getting, something tells me whoever is incharge of this site. VideoGamer.com Just slaped this title on it and posted this huge nonsence write up, because if you type gta4, one of the first hits you get is this crappy sites GTA4 nonsense flaw write up. Gets them hits, and gets us, myself inclooded to visit their site which normally we would never do (I had no idea this site existed until i heard GTa4 Flaws, by googling gta news.) Its whats HOT now so everyone wants their hits. Im just dissapointed any site would stoop this low for hits.

Basically your options are: 1. Do the missions like a good little boy. 2. Blow stuff up.
I feel no compulsion to explore the world because there is nothing in it. Sure the city is detailed, but so what? If i dont get off following a citizen around ooing and awwing at how they interact with other NPCs. I dont even really care that it is a detailed rep of NYC (i might more if i lived there).
Past iterations of GTA have added interesting gameplay mechanics. GTA III was a totally open and relatively huge world to explore. GTA:VC added motorcycles and helicopters as well as a kick @$$ soundtrack along with a bigger world and great style. GTA:SA added interesting things like jetpacks, huge airliners, parachutes, and character development, bicycles, customizable cars, etc.
GTA IV, in comparison does not add any important gameplay mechanics (sure you could argue for the internet/tv/shows etc, but i want to play the game, not sit down infront of a TV watching my character sitting down in front of a TV). The cars arent as fun to drive, there aren't any new or particularly interesting weapons, and all of the minigames feel unpolished and boring. I want my apache back from VC, i want my monstertruck back from SA. At least put all of this stuff in free mode.
Down with "realism" up with freedom and fun I say, but to each his own.

This by far is the best game out on the PS3
