Wii

The Wii Virtual Console received two excellent games this week, the pick being Earthworm Jim. The side-scrolling action game from Shiny stars the titular character and wowed gamers on its release back in 1994. The combination of fun gameplay, a great sense of humour and incredibly impressive graphics was too much to resist. Although this Mega Drive version has inferior sound compared to the SNES game it does include a level SNES owners didn't get. Well worth 800 Wii Points. Shining Force II isn't quite as well known in the UK, but it's a solid RPG that is well worth adding to your Virtual Console collection.

Xbox LIVE Marketplace
It was a close run thing between PSN and Xbox LIVE Marketplace this week, with both offering good content, but for us Xbox Live Marketplace just edges it. Xbox 360 owners have access to three demos (including the brilliant Viva Piñata), compared to the PSN's two, and Mega Man 9 is more appealing than Geon. Wii owners got two good releases this week too, so it's good news all round.
