The Sims, an EA Label, has announced the first details for SimCity Creator, an exclusive title for Wii and Nintendo DS. The game promises to be the most accessible and light-hearted game in the SimCity franchise.
SimCity Creator is described as an open-ended, highly creative game with a sense of humour that allows players to utilise the unique control options available for both Wii and Nintendo DS to create and destroy epic cities.
In the Wii game players become a powerful mayor and must create, enjoy and destroy their ultimate city. Using a new user interface designed for the Wii players will start by zoning the city, constructing homes, businesses, factories, skyscrapers, freeways, railroads and more. The game will also offer a wealth of customisation options, with 13 city styles to explore, such as American, European and Asian themes.
The game will also feature more than 30 Hero buildings which can be placed in the player's city. Some of these buildings are based on the current day, some on history and some on fantasy.
SimCity Creator will also offer players the ability to build transportation systems with free placement of rounded and curved roads and rail lines. It will also be possible to take a birds-eye view of the city from a helicopter, jet or a propeller plane.
Disasters have always been an important element in SimCity and they return here. Using the Wii Remote players will be able to create earthquakes, tornados, call in destructive robots and monsters, create fires and more.
In SimCity Creator for the Nintendo DS players will guide their city from ancient times into the future. Four play modes will be available, including Challenge, Free Play, Chance Encounter and Gallery.
SimCity Creator is scheduled for release on Wii and Nintendo DS on September 19 across Europe and Asia and on September 22 in North America.
