Ubisoft brain game pulled
Poor performance in the game sees the player labelled in a manner derogatory to the disabled.
Ubisoft's Mind Quiz was released back in March, but is now in the process of being recalled from retailers following the discovery of a derogatory term found within the game.
Players which perform badly in the game are labelled using a term derogatory to the disabled, something which was brought to Ubisoft's attention when a Belfast woman contacted BBC Radio Ulster's Nolan Show.
Ubisoft has blamed both the Japanese development team behind the game and its own quality assurance methods for the error.
"As soon as we were made aware of the issue we stopped distribution of the product and are now working with retailers to pull the game off the market," a Ubisoft spokesperson told the BBC. "The game was developed in Japan, and we unfortunately did not pick up on the offending word in our quality assurance."
Ubisoft says that it is "working with the developer to find a way to rectify the issue".
