Rockstar Games' GTA Chinatown Wars doesn't fare much better on DS.

According to NPD data provided to Gamasutra, SEGA's mature rated Wii action title MadWorld sold only 66,000 units in the US following its March 10 release.

While this bettered the 45,000 haul achieved by SEGA's earlier M-rated Wii title, House of the Dead: Overkill, it does cast a serious doubt over the future of adult-orientated software releases on the console.

However, in a recent VentureBeat interview America marketing exec Sean Ratcliffe noted that House of the Dead had "done very well", meeting the publisher's expectations. He also claimed the first data for MadWorld was "very encouraging".

Similarly, high profile M-rated DS title GTA Chinatown Wars shifted only 89,000 units in its debut month, a figure that is much lower than the 200k-450k units analysts had predicted.
