FIFA 09 rockets past two million in the UK

The title will continue to be promoted throughout the remainder of the football season.

MCV reports that EA Sports' FIFA 09 has now sold over two million units in the UK, becoming the fastest-selling FIFA title ever.

EA UK marketing manager Dan Holman told MCV: "The studio created a game that appeals to everyone. We've listened to our consumers and delivered the game they wanted with rich gameplay and innovation.

"We had a couple of well-timed promotions in place in the run-up to Christmas, but, more importantly, we've made an exceptional football game this year which has sold incredible numbers week on week since release.

"We have now sold in excess of two million in the UK making it the fastest selling FIFA title to date."

EA doesn't expect sales of the game to dry up any time soon and will continue to market the title for the remainder of the football season.
