EA takes Wii and DS to the playground
New multi-game package for Wii and DS will focus on playground games for kids of all ages.

Wii Sports is almost single-handedly responsible for making the Wii such a success, so it's no surprise to see other publishers following a similar formula. IGN got the scoop on EA Playground (working title), a game for the Wii and DS that gives players numerous simple mini-games and a single-player campaign to work through to tie all the games together.
As you'd imagine, the Wii game features mini-games that make use of the Wii-mote (Dodge Ball and RC Car Racing among others), while the DS game will include games built around the touch screen and microphone. Each game will also support up to four players, with the DS game offering wireless play.
Although mini-game focussed, unlike Wii Sports the games will include a single-player campaign, with EA using children's obsession with collecting stickers as the hook to keep them playing through the game and unlocking new mini-games.
We'll bring you more news when we get it.
