The first de blob was somewhat of a surprise hit, shifting over 700,000 copies - an impressive feat given it was a third-party Wii release.

However, the recently launched sequel, which took the colourful world of de blob to multiple formats, has failed to find an audience. The game charted outside the UK Top 40 and according to investment firm Wedbush Morgan sold "much less" than 75,000 copies during its first month in the US.

The game certainly deserved better, earning a solid 7/10.

That's still 67,500 copies more than the excellent Rock Band 3 did!

It's the age old story. Game is released, poorly marketed (if at all), and then publishers scratch their head as to why nobody buys it. The first game sold steadily, rather than spectacularly, so the hope must be that this will also be a sleeper hit.

Shame as it's a very good game.
