You'll be able to pay to "accelerate your experience points" in upcoming FPS Call of Duty: World at War, publisher Activision revealed yesterday.

During the publisher's analyst day, CEO Mike Griffith said, as reported by Edge, that "We... see strong opportunities to monetize online gameplay. The average Call of Duty player has spent nearly five full 24-hour days of their lives online since purchasing the game. Over time, we'll qualify more opportunities to increase the monetization of these activities."

Griffith said that Activision "plans to increase online monetization" with the fifth Call of Duty game, developed by Treyarch, and will offer gamers "three times the amount of content available for download and premium content called 'Day One Advantage'."

According to website gamecyte.com, Griffith said that Day 1 Advantage "gives you the ability to accelerate your experience points".

To us, this sounds like you'll be able to pay real world money to improve your profile so that it is ahead of other players when the game is initially released.

Would you pay to have an experience advantage when Call of Duty: World at War is first released? Let us know in the comments section below.

What a joke!! Why call it experience points, why not call it "who has forked out the most money points", this is just another reason to stop me buying this game!! I am seriously p**sed that they have gone back to the war and the crappy old guns, and now this!!! Its just getting worse!!
