SNES RPG Chrono Trigger is coming to the European Virtual Console on Friday, Nintendo has announced. The news comes a week after Square Enix confirmed the Japanese RPG was coming to North American Wii's.

Unlike its North American counterpart which will be selling at a standard 800 Wii Points, Chrono Trigger will be selling at a 900-point premium in Europe.

The classic game follows Crono, a young man transported into the past who alters the course of history as he tries to find his way back home.

Square Enix has also previously announced that Chrono Trigger will be ported to mobile phones as well as to PSN.

My excuse is that there is no way I am paying a 100 Wii point premium just because I'm saddled with being part of Europe and our lagging mainland continental brethren. Regionally unlock the Wii and let me buy non-PAL games that will easily work on my TV, because I don't need those seven additional languages. Seriously, I'm tired of waiting for Belgium to join the civilised world.

Anyway, if Nintendo do all that, then I might buy it. (But probably not, because it is kinda dull.)
