In an unusual move from Embark, there is no regular weekly update for The Finals. They have still released patch 2.5.1, but this is only a small update rather than the usual boatload of balance changes, tweaks, and bug fixes. Here you will find The Finals update 2.5.1 patch notes that finally add a much-anticipated melee weapon skin to the store.
Embark has explained why there is no regular update for The Finals this week. The next regular patch for the game will be 2.6.0, and incoming nerfs for this update have massively divided fans. It should arrive in a week or two according to the developer, so expect it to arrive on either May 1st or May 8th.
While 2.6.0 is in the distance, Embark has rotated the store with 2.5.1. The patch notes are minimal but the store has gotten a weapon dreamt up by the community.
The Finals update 2.5.1 patch notes

- New store content
- Fix for server crashes
- Improvements and adjustments to security and anti-cheat
This is everything discussed by Embark in their blog post. The fixes for server crashes and improvements to security are vague, but hopefully they improve the experience.
As for the new store content, this includes the following Legendary weapons/skins:
- Legendary Broth Bruiser (spoon skin for sledgehammer) – 700 C
- Legendary Diskette Bezel (requires Model 1887) – 850 C
- Epic Techno Honeycomb (requires Goo Gun) – 1,150 C
Although it’s a technically a skin for the sledgehammer rather than a new weapon, the arrival of the Broth Bruiser spoon is fantastic. It was something originally conceived by the community and it’s another example of Embark listening to the desires of the fans.
It is exclusive to the Heavy class cause only heavies can use the sledgehammer. Reacting to the arrival of the spoon on Reddit, fans are full of humorous jokes such as ‘He’s going to the Super Bowl’ and ‘Time to spoon some people’. Fans have also pointed out how Heavy always gets the best skins.
