Helldivers 2 dev responds to ‘issue that needs to be fixed as soon as possible’

Helldivers 2 regularly receives patches from the developer, but not everything can be fixed all at once as Arrowhead are admittedly a small team rather than a AAA juggernaut. Arrowhead are aware of problems that need to be a resolved, and the Helldivers 2 dev has responded to a fan reporting an ‘issue that needs to be fixed as soon as possible’.

One of the best aspects of the game is the communication between fans and Arrowhead. The developer has shared an upcoming nerf/rework that will stop players ‘dying in 2 secs,’ and the developer has also discussed the possibility of crossovers. Not only that, but they have also given an update on whether melee weapons will be added.

All of the above are recent examples of back-and-forth communication between developer and fans. The CEO has also said that the game is not getting a customization feature some fans desperately want, and now the community manager has acknowledged the team is aware of an exploit that some believe needs to be urgently fixed.

Helldivers 2 dev responds to Super Credits farming exploit

The Helldivers 2 community manager, Twinbeard, has responded to a reported Super Credits farming exploit. On the game’s official Discord, user CyberViper posted the following message (via PCGamer):

‘A lot of Antidemocratic Players uses glitch for free easy farming super credits. Stop it now and save democracy… This issue needs to be fixed as soon as possible as it is an illegitimate method and in the long run it damages not only the seriousness of the players but also the development team’.

In their message, they also explained how the exploit works. Referencing tutorial videos on YouTube, CyberViper says the farming exploit is achieved by collecting super credits during games and then force quitting on PC (ALT+F4) and hard shutdown on PS5.

Community manager Twinbeard responded to this report acknowledging that Arrowhead is ‘aware of this undemocratic behaviour’. He added ‘Thanks for doing your sworn duty and reporting it, though”.

It’s unclear whether it will be fixed, but PCGamer says it’s an exploit that possibly shouldn’t be taken too seriously as it’s not worth the hassle. It’s not a bug or glitch, and, from their own efforts, they were only able to farm 30 free credits in an approach described as ‘slow and monotonous’.
