Ubisoft is considering producing movies based on its Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon franchises, a survey suggests.

After a series of generic movie questions, the survey specifically asked the participant to identify the most important factor in deciding to watch a movie based on the Ghost Recon/Assassin's Creed games.

The questioning appears to be attempting to garner gamer opinion on how such a movie would fit into overarching Ghost Recon/Assassin's Creed canon.

Ubisoft isn't new to the movie business. Prince of Persia hit cinemas in 2010 and the publisher also produced the short film series Assassin's Creed Lineage to help promote Assassin's Creed II.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

We'd be all for an Assassin's Creed movie, although gamers know all too well that the transition to the silver screen hasn't been handled with the most care in the past.

Wasn't it Ubisoft a few years ago that said they were developing technology that could be used in games and films that looked very realistic or something? I dunno, it was a long time ago, I'll see what I can find >_<

[edit] Might have been this from 2008, so they've been interested in films for quite some time. They should sort the games out first, though.

Splinter Cell was the one that should've been a movie - after the initial rumours years ago it all just went quiet!
