Pick up Pokémon Black or White Version 2 at launch for free Genesect Pokémon

Mythical Pokémon restored from a 300 million year old fossil.

Nintendo is offering early Pokémon Black or White Version 2 buyers the opportunity to receive mythical Pokémon Genesect for free via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for a limited time after launch.

Genesect, the newly discovered Mythical Pokémon, has been restored from a 300 million year old fossil. Modified by Team Plasma, this Pokémon has a fearsome signature move called Techno Blast. Genesect is the only known Pokémon with this move. Genesect is a Bug and Steel-Type Pokémon with the ability to adjust its power levels based on the foe it's battling.

This powerful Pokémon will be available from launch on October 12, 2012 through to November 12, 2012.

In Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2, players will return to the Unova region and embark on a new adventure set two years after the events of the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games.

On the subject of legendary Pokémon, you can walk into any GAME or GameStation right now and collect a Keldeo. The promotion lasts throughout September, but you may need to actually ask staff to get it working for you. (I had to in Northwich!)

Got a pre-order down for £20 so I was getting it at launch anyway.

To be honest, this is the least that I expect Nintendo to do for the launch of a Pokémon game, but I'm not sure how much difference such an incentive will make. Players who want to catch them all will be buying the game at launch anyway, and everyone else doesn't care about one Pokémon.
